Register

You can view free samples of the Specification Documents by clicking on the appropriate link. You MUST register to view the samples. Registration is free, automatic, and only requires a valid email address.

Example of Repository Contents

When you click on the repository link, you will see the repository models and simulations organized by category, physiologic state, and paper reference (if applicable).

Models posted in the repository are in CPM format. A CPM consists of image data, anatomic model, mesh, boundary conditions, simulation results, and a summary document. Below is an example of a CPM in the repository.

Sample Specification Document

For each image scan, there is a Specification Document (e.g. 0110_0001.pdf) that provides basic information about the image scan, the anatomic model constructed, and simulation and boundary condition parameters (if available).

When possible, the Specification Documents contain closely related models (e.g. those found in a publication, a common clinical condition, etc.). There are a total of 36 Specification Documents covering all of the models and simulation results included in the repository.

Download a CPM

If you are interested in download the data, you can click on the associated “Buy Now” link (when active) to download a zip file containing the corresponding data. Note the each individual CPM is sold separately, even though many Specifications Documents contain information about multiple CPMs.

Use the Data

You can now use the data. The standard file formats contained in the CPM include:

  • image data: volumetric scan in DICOM and vtkStructuredGrid (.vti) file format
  • anatomic model: vtkPolyData (.vtp) file format
  • vessel centerlines and 2-D segmentations: vtkPolyData (.vtp) file format
  • simulation results: vtkUnstructuredGrid (.vtu) file format

You can visualize the data using OSMSC's cpmViewer or other tools. For example, to visualize the image data using open source software you could try VolView. To visualize the surface anatomic model or the simulation results using open source software you could try ParaView. ParView also can be used to convert the surface representation to other useful formats such as STL.
